                                Dana Fleming, CPA
                            Chief Financial Officer
                           Gulfport School District
                            Gulfport, Mississippi

    Mississippi is spotlighting Dana Fleming, a current Director
    serving on the MASBO Board representing District 4.  She
    currently serves as Chief Financial Officer for Gulfport School
    District in Gulfport, Mississippi.  Dana has been in her current position since January 2009.  Previously she served 17 years in South Pike School District in Magnolia, Mississippi.  Dana is passionate about her district.  While busy with district finances, she also enjoys helping in the BOOST Mentor program at Central Elementary where she has the privilege of tutoring a child to improve their reading skills.

She has served in a leadership role with the Commission on School District Efficiency and currently serves on the Task Force for the Mississippi Achievement School District.  She has also been a part of the Financial Transparency Working Group, a national organization designed to work through compliance issues relating to ESSA reporting.  She is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified School Business Administrator and holds an Educational Administrative License.  She is also a member of SASBO and ASBO International. 

Dana is a native of Natchez Mississippi.  She has been married for 31 years and has two children.  She loves to travel, enjoys her four granddaughters, craft projects, going boating, riding bikes and spending time with her family and friends.
